About the Copywriter Role

Our copywriters are responsible for writing compelling copy for marketing projects and campaigns in support of Pampered Chef products, experiences, and services for consultants and end consumers. The ideal candidate for this role understands our target audience and can create creative, strategic, on-brand content that’s compelling and action-oriented. This person is an important member our marketing team, and reports to the Manager, Brand & Content.

 

As a member of the brand and creative team, you can expect:

  • Variety – Writing responsibilities include website and blog content, email content, catalog content, product use & cares, social media content, training material for consultants, party experience content, and more.

What you’ll do

We’re looking for a passionate, data-driven, direct marketing specialist who’ll be responsible for executing the company’s email marketing strategy to engage, nurture, and drive customer loyalty. The specialist will manage and execute email marketing campaigns, from setup, targeting, and testing to deployment and campaign optimization. This includes reviewing creative, executing tests and QA, running data filters, scheduling, and deployment.

 

What your day will look like

You’ll be working with the consumer and consultant communication teams to strategize, set up and execute email marketing campaigns. You’ll advise on testing optimization including A/B and multivariate testing. You’ll be working with the email vendor to resolve any issues with program. You’ll also document and maintain reports for these campaigns.

 

Technology you’ll use

Salesforce Marketing Cloud / ExactTarget, Jira, Confluence, Google Analytics

 

Other skills you’ll need

  • 3 years of email marketing expierence, at least 1 year of Salesforce Marketing Cloud (ExactTarget) required.
  • Experience executing and optimizing strategic acquisition and nurture programs.

Corporate Development Manager

 

 

Overview

This role is for someone who wants the challenge of building our corporate development function from scratch. You will be responsible for creating a repeatable process to identify, evaluate, and execute investment and business partnership opportunities. It is a great opportunity to take ownership, work closely with our senior executives, and build a world-class process that drives sustainable value creation.  This position reports to our CFO.

Responsibilities

  • Market assessment: Develop deep understanding of selected markets for potential expansion including key economic drivers, market size and growth, competitive landscape, and sources of competitive advantage
  • Source: Create search process that includes building in-bound funnel and direct outreach to target businesses; identify and build relationships with key corporate development targets and intermediaries
  • Evaluate and Execute: Partner with senior leadership team to define and deploy investment process including due diligence, valuation, negotiation, structuring, and closing
  • Post-close plan: Understand and monitor post-close performance to create a cycle of continuous learning; actively monitor post-close performance and partner with relevant teams to ensure success
  • Strategic projects: Own and deliver key strategic projects across the business

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of sourcing, executing, and integrating M&A transactions

    • You’ll Perform software deployment, patch management and configuration management.
    • You’ll setup administrator and service accounts, maintain system documentation, perform system tuning and storage administration (Pure).
    • You’ll support Network engineer in f5 load balancer and ASA firewall administration.
    • You’ll perform routine operations, ensuring high availability through close monitoring of network systems, system events, communication links to other systems, storage area connectivity and periodic review of system resources.
    • You’ll provide on-call support triage production issues, diagnose the issue, and implement long term resolution.
  • Ownership - You’ll be accountable for a resilient, high availability infrastructure, and consolidate monitoring tools to allow us to proactively identify and resolve issue.  You’ll benchmark our key metrics and drive continuous service improvement.

 What we’re looking for in a new team member:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related discipline required.
  • 8+ years of System Administration experience.
  • In lieu of degree, equivalent computer systems support experience required.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • RHEL Certifications, such as: RHCSA, RHCE.
    • Network Certifications, such as: CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE
  • Experience deploying Linux on Rack mount servers and blades.
  • Experience setting up and deploying systems with Red Hat Satellite.
  • Demonstrated experience with advanced configurations such as high availability, clusters, virtualization (VMware), and performance tuning.
  • Experience supporting J2EE applications and RDBMS.
  • Understanding of network physical infrastructure such as patch panels, fiber cabling and network cable termination.

About the Accounts Payable Lead Role

The AP Lead will work directly with the AP Manager and AP team to ensure accurate, timely and efficient processing for all aspects of accounts payables for the company.  You will challenge the current processes and drive new efficiencies.  As the AP lead you will manage projects and provide leadership to the team and help create an environment of continued improvement.  If you know what success looks like and want to test out new ideas and challenge the status quo, this may be the perfect opportunity.

  • Take the lead to coordinate, prioritize and assist in managing the daily accounts payable processing activities such as data entry, 2-3-way match, expense report processing, ensuring timely payments, resolving discrepancies, meeting deadlines, providing metrics etc.
  • Coordinate and assist with the month/year end activities such as journal entries, accruals, close process
  • Manage the 1099 process
  • Develop and implement processes and work cross functionally to develop methods that close efficiency gaps
  • Provide support and direction, to AP Manager and be a team lead
  • Create an environment of continuous improvement for the AP process and team
  • Provide evaluations and feedback on team members
  • Help manage meeting the department objectives
  • Assist with system upgrades, implementation, and testing of systems

About the Financial Accountant Role

We’re numbers people!  We collect, process, analyze, and distribute financial information, keeping everything accurate and timely.  We are responsible for protecting our business and safeguarding our assets.  Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Perform month end accounting including journal entry preparation and reconciliation of assigned balance sheet accounts.
  • Analyze expense line item variances and provide explanations to be included in the monthly Executive Summary analysis provided to the Officer team.
  • Assist in the preparation of the quarterly and annual financial statement and footnotes submitted to Berkshire Hathaway, Inc.
  • Assist external audit and tax teams by preparing schedules, explaining supporting material and procedures and any other data as needed.
  • Act as the financial liaison for specific department(s) within the organization; reviewing their results vs plan on a monthly basis, assist with the budget process and perform any ad-hoc reporting/analysis to support the team.
  • Identify and implement process improvements in daily/monthly responsibilities.
  • Assist in preparing the monthly inventory reporting and analysis provided to the Product Development team.

About the Legal Coordinator role:

The Legal coordinator joins a small legal team that works cross functionally with every other department in the organization. The team is responsible for conducting IP clearance, managing the IP portfolio, negotiating contracts, reviewing marketing materials, handling product claims, executing brand protection efforts, and ensuring compliance of corporate practices. In addition, the legal team provides education to all departments on legal issues and developments that impact the business.

 

As a Legal Coordinator, you will:

  • Assist General Counsel and Staff Attorney with executing Brand Protection Strategy by identifying and shutting down unauthorized third party sellers.
  • Utilize contract management system to review, log, track, and report on new and existing contracts.
  • Assist General Counsel and Staff Attorney with compliance measures with local and international data protection and privacy laws.
  • Provide support to the legal team as needed by coordinating audit materials, drafting correspondence on behalf of attorneys and ensuring compliance with Berkshire Hathaway guidelines.
  • Perform corporate recordkeeping tasks associated with the business.
  • Track and monitor the receipt of certificates of insurance for outside vendors and manufacturers.
  • Prepare legal documents, correspondence, discovery, subpoenas, employment verifications, bankruptcy notices, etc.
  • Track and respond to garnishments, unemployment claims/questionnaires, and tax levies on behalf of Pampered Chef consultants.

 

What we’re looking for in a new team member:

  • Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience in a law firm or corporate legal department.
  • A motivated individual who is flexible and has the acumen to provide support to the General Counsel in an effort to advance the strategic, operational and business objectives of the Company.
  • Demonstrated ability to supervise workload, perform with minimal supervision and meet deadlines.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

What you’ll do:

Our small but talented UX team demonstrates a strong practical knowledge of user-centered methodologies, usability principles, and mobile-first design.  You’ll partner with product managers, engineers, and stakeholders to create software solutions that are beautiful, intuitive, and useful.  You’ll be the authority on interaction design best practices and will be the one-stop-shop for information architecture and visual design solutions. 

A day in the life:

 

You’ll support multiple Agile sprint teams to achieve business goals through custom software development.  Projects includes reimagining the web application our over 40,000 independent consultants rely on to run their businesses, optimizing search and checkout of our consumer website, and innovating technology solutions to best support virtual parties.

 

You’ll optimize information architecture to promote usability while accommodating technical and business constraints.  You’ll collaborate with our UX Researcher to combine qualitative and quantitative findings with insights from cross-functional teams, and rapidly iterate on solutions. Your recommendations will take the form of landscape analysis, storyboards, user flows, wireframes and high-fidelity prototypes.

About the Financial Services and Risk Management Specialist Role:

The Financial Services and Risk Management team is a specialized group within our call center.   • Handle incoming consultant/customer inquiries via phone queue and e-mail relating to outstanding balances, order payment account and direct deposit programs, payment inquiry or issues, etc.
  • Outbound calls/e-mails to collect outstanding balances.
  • Creates invoices or receipts in Oracle. Reconciles all entries daily to ensure accuracy and completion. Processes consultant payments through an on-line credit card processing system. Must maintain confidentiality and uphold all company policies regarding PCI Compliance.
  • Assist with Personal Website issues relating to NSF situations, cancellations and general policy and procedure questions.
  • Recommends accounts for Termination due to unpaid balances. Prepares placement of accounts to outside collection agency and contacts the agency as needed to report payments, account updates, etc.
  • Handles payment/refund issues from consultants, customers or other internal departments. Extensive research may be required to provide accurate and thorough details. Follow up as needed.
  • Tracks and resolves any duplicate authorization issues that may occur due to system errors. Works with bank to remove duplicate authorizations from account and follows up with consultant or customer accordingly. Handles sending of apology gifts in situations deemed necessary.
  • Handles entry of new applications and/or account changes for the order payment account and direct deposit programs. Ensures confidentiality when handling bank account details.
  • Handles other department duties as needed such as: Conference registration collection; verifying funds for large dollar orders; entering misc. payments or refunds; PC dollar printing or account updates, etc.

 

What we’re looking for in a new team member:

  • Some college preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in an accounting/AR type position with strong customer service skills or equivalent Pampered Chef experience.
  • High level of professionalism and confidentiality to handle calls with banks as well as follow all company PCI requirements.
  • Ability to listen to customers and, with diplomacy and empathy, address their concerns toward resolution. Must be able to pacify irate callers and turn negative situations into positive ones.
  • Ability to strive in a call center environment and balance phone work along with other tasks.
  • Must meet or exceed the monthly department metrics including, Quality, Productivity and Collection dollars.
  • Highly organized and able to multi-task.
  • Strong computer skills required including Excel, MS Word. Experience with Windows, Internet and desktop software required. Oracle experience highly recommended.

MAIN COURSE (Job Responsibilities)

Our team's role is to bring both the "Art and Science" of sales to the direct selling channel at Pampered Chef.

The Field Training and Development team is focused on enabling consultants to learn the key business and selling skills to build and grow their Pampered Chef business. 

 

You will lead our Field Training and Field Development teams, inspiring and motivating our thousands of independent Pampered Chef Consultants. You will drive strategic decisions across all things related to field training and development and also roll up your sleeves to execute.

 

You will be responsible for driving results by aligning field training and development with corporate strategy.  You will also be energizing and motivating the field organization to grow while partnering with cross-functional teams across the organization. Our role goes well beyond just motivating the field – we’re a team that uses data and best practices to develop the most effective programs to help our field organization grow.  This role reports directly to the VP of Field Strategy. 

 

More specifically, this individual in this role:

  • Inspires people: Is a dynamic and inspirational leader that can maneuver seamlessly in both a corporate and field environment
  • Drives results: Delivers sales growth through leadership of the training and field development teams

Job Responsibilities:

The Logistics Manager will be accountable to effectively manage the Small Parcel, Intermodal, LTL, FTL, and Ocean Freight supporting direct sales customers and operations worldwide. Administers transportation policies to optimize service and minimize cost working closely with the freight suppliers, internal supply chain, shipping, customer service, finance and sales. Identifies and prioritizes logistics needs and communicates recommendations to management in order to achieve efficient product distribution.

  • Develops, implements, and monitors all logistics management activities required for the timely and efficient transportation and distribution of products.
  • Stay up to date on the transportation and logistics market including fuel prices, capacity and developments.
  • Develops comprehensive transportation plans that meet company KPI’s goals with regard to cost and service levels.
  • Provides key analysis to support negotiations and budget recommendations.
  • Lead when required with rate rationalization, bid and negotiation process with freight vendors.
  • Manage financial activities including auditing/approving invoices, developing budgets, re-forecasting on a quarterly basis and explaining variances from budget.
  • Monitors customs activities including valuations, duty drawback, CTPAT, and recycling programs and verifies that all requirements as set forth by our freight forwarders and external auditors are being met.
  • Conduct in-depth logistical analysis around mode and carrier selection, product placement and sequencing in order to improve service and drive down freight costs.
  • Develops and maintains reports used to track shipping trends and take appropriate corrective action when shipping trends deviate from overall transportation plan.
  • Develop KPI’s and service requirements for all Freight Forwarders and carriers, to ensure on-time delivery and performance/service goals are met.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with carriers and vendors.
  • Work with customer service to resolve issues on specific transportation problems and to expedite shipments when necessary.
  • Manage Insurance, Letters of Credit, AES Filings, Duty Drawback, customs compliance, product classifications and export documentation
  • Manage and develop departmental budget, cost center accounting and reporting. 
  • Manage daily operations of inbound and outbound information systems to ensure complete Purchase Order visibility to merchandising and distribution staff.
  • Maintain reporting for all inbound shipments, and verify Customs and other Government and agency clearances.
  • Work with the Distribution Center and compliance to ensure flow and scheduling of product into the DC with adherence to all FTZ regulations.
  • Ensure Vendor and Carrier transportation compliance and initiate Chargeback/claims when necessary

 

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution required in logistics, supply chain or related field - Master’s Degree or MBA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience in logistics and distribution with emphasis on small parcel shipments and international freight forwarders. Strong knowledge of import and export regulations.
  • Analytical skills such as being able to extract data, organize it in Excel or Access, utilize it to make key business decisions and communicate/present it throughout the organization.
  • Acts as a lead contact for resolving transportation issues and concerns for the company with an emphasis on the Solution Center.
  • Responsible for insuring the integrity of freight carrier invoices
  • Tracks and monitors freight and transportation expenses to ensure costs are not over budget, makes changes to ensure budgets are not exceeded
